I (Dave) was just on KTAR Radio this evening (Monday 10/26). Very hostile.

No one supported swing clubs, everyone agreed they should be outlawed they are so immoral and sick. They cut me off before I could even discuss that issue!

And any touch by dancers (especially laps) are clearly viewed as immoral by most all the callers and guests. I tried to argue positive healthy non-sexual interaction vs. just staring at women's bodies as sex objects and got no agreement. That's when I got cut off.

They joked about how some silly psychologist is going to try and show sex makes men less aggressive towards women. I hadn't said that but was going to..glad I didn't. They really got a big laugh over that idea.

The view seems to be all the problems of the world are being blamed on such immoral behavior and the clubs are full of drugs and prostitutes. The host tried to make a good point that there are already laws the make drugs and prostitution illegal but Councilmen John Nelson says too many loopholes, such as allowing touch at nude clubs, have to register dancers to be sure aren't prostitutes and raise the age to 21. One cab driver insists pimps are bringing women in for prostitution and have to do everything possible to stop prostitution in Phoenix.

It will be interesting at the meetings... I hope those of us that speak can make points against the proposals more effectively. At least we can say what we wish without being interrupted and ridiculed (I hope).

It's hard to understand the view of the public but we have to realize how negative some view these issues...especially "sex/swing clubs and any human touch that might be pleasurable!
