Form Letter from City of Phoenix, Office of City Council

September 29, 1998

Thank you for sharing your views in correspondence regarding the Council's examination our laws governing sexually oriented businesses. The review of this ordinance has generated interest from a host of individuals with widely divergent viewpoints.

In order to provide the opportunity for citizens representing the perspective of the industry, neighborhoods, parents, and other interests in the community, the City will be hosting public meetings later this fall. These meetings are in the process of being scheduled at various geographical locations across the City for this purpose. Details of times, locations and dates will be announced as soon as they are determined. You will be included in the notification since you have taken the time to write regarding this matter.

I'm sure you will agree with the idea that we should strive to make our City a cleaner, safer and economically more productive place to raise families in our neighborhoods and grow business. While we may disagree on exactly what that may entail, the overall objective is a worthy goal to try and reach. Diversity is important in public debate and I appreciate your taking the time to express your concerns

Very truly yours,

John Nelson, Chairman
Ethics & Public Safety (E&PS) Subcommittee
