Your site is a breath of fresh air! As an Aromatherapist in the U.K. offering Massage and massage workshops, I know that it only seems acceptable to have a massage relive a bad back or other illness and not for the enjoyment and nourishment of being touched. We too in the U.K. have unclear and repressive laws about offering massage that is more sensual than clinical. These laws generate a climate of fear and pave the way for rip off's and making the professional giving of sensual touch seem seedy. If we were all less hung up about touching, I know that the world would be a better place. Chris

am rather impressed with site- work in tn corrections as mental health program specialist/counselor with sex offenders. most (if not all) are victims of secrecy/suppression/repression in some form or another. when americans decide to be honest about sexuality and sexual role identity issues, sex offenses will decline. until that time, we will have an upward spiral in violent/non-consenting "sexual" offenses simply because of repression and denial of sexual roles/drives/desire....

As a provider, i have to say that I love the site, very interesting slant on the business. The comments on Dallas were right on, sometimes I feel like I am in Berlin in 1939, instead of Dallas in 1999!!!! Am very impressed with your forum- have worked with sex offenders and victims for 8 years. Have never figured out how a nation supposedly based on personal freedoms is so repressive in sexual issues. The repression/ignorance/guilt/shame issues attached to sex in this country is undoubtedly a significant mental health issue.

how interesting.... in Canada prostitution is LEGAL, and has been since May 1985, however communication, living off the avails, common bawdy, and exercising control etc. isn't!! So basically we are not allowed to talk about it. What's free speech? You would think we would have it, but we really don't.
Dave's comments having done a great deal of research on Canadian law: You have to stick with independent, outcall to avoid bawdy and be totally legal. You can't communicate (solicit) on the street, but you can run ads like those in Vancouver Sun, websites, and discuss by phone openly with no legal concerns.
Hello, I find your site most interesting. While I find myself sometimes struggling with Christianity part of believing God would accept swapping/swinging, I do enjoy the lifestyle though we're relatively new at it. Sometimes that's the very issue that stops me in my tracks and makes me rethink and back up from it sometimes. But I know that we were created as sexual beings, and when we are secure in our love and relationship with our significant other, and there's mutual agreement, then it's all right to mingle with other couples with the same belief and to give and receive of sexual satisfaction. By profession I'm a licensed massage therapist, I only practice nonsexual massage as it's the law in my state. But my education has helped bring about an awareness of sensuality and intimacy when interacting with the opposite sex. It's made swinging fun. Though sometimes I may be body conscious, if the one I'm with helps me I can loosen up and enjoy my sexual self. I've become much more sexual after hitting my 30's and the freedom of pursuing more sex has been rewarding, and having an open relationship with my second husband is most rewarding. We love the idea of sexual freedom, and that is consentual and nobody's cheating. We even started our own email discussion list for our area for swingers, two lists nwlouisianaswingers and NWLACouples that can be found on the onelist.com web site. Okay, I'm from the South, so that disqualifies me from a lot of discussions automatically, as I've found out, and I understand the prejudices. Sometimes I wish I'd been born somewhere like Pennsylvania myself. Hopefully I can get through this without making a typo so at least you may get the impression that I'm at least *somewhat* educated. Now, having said that -- Christian prostitution? Me gottum big problem mit dat. I've bookmarked this site, and I'll be coming back to look around a bit more (see, hints of a possibly somewhat open mind), but I swear, I've seen "Biblical justification" for EVERY SINGLE SEXUAL ACTIVITY IMAGINABLE, including threesomes, bestiality, you name it. If people want to do it, they're going to find a way to say that God (or Jesus) has said some thing or *many* things to indicate that he "okays" it. My personal feeling is sex is personal, private (i.e., not to be shared -- none of that "poly" stuff), and meant to be man/woman, or, if you'd prefer, woman/man. Whoever is on top makes no difference to me. But I do think that making Biblical references to support whatever it is you've chosen to believe anyway has become a ridiculous obsession, and therefore little more than meaningless and mindless drivel. See, some of us Southerners *can* put together a decent (and, I hope, a somewhat thoughtful) comment without falling into "y'all" mode and making complete asses of ourselves.

Of course in Canada sex work with restrictions is legal so they can be totally open unlike in the U.S. Very refreshing. The discussion list is free as are their latest reviews. To support the site Lyla also has inexpensive subscription options with search function for reviews etc. But peeking at all the free stuff, especially honest discussions is very helpful. It's great that Canada is so much more advanced in sexual freedoms than the U.S. Of course almost every other country has long decriminalized sexwork to some extent..except the "land of the free" here in the U.S.

Dave. I respect what you are doing here; I too prefer sensual intimate sessions (cuddling!) over the traditional fare that you get with working ladies. However, I feel that you have been most insensitive in your attitudes about Vancouver (especially when you say it in the same breath with Thailand) and your stubborn refusal to give any ground when this insensitivity is confronted. This does detract from your otherwise excellent website. Good Luck with this-I think we will all benefit if the issues you raise here become widely accepted by the population (ultimately not just legal but also as a politically and socially acceptable behaviour). I only wish that you would not use Vancouver to further your political goals-there is a lot to do in your own backyard. In perusing several sites supporting a more open discussion and legal view of prostitution, I'm somewhat irritated that there seems to be a colossal blind spot (intentional or otherwise) of MALE prostitution! What's the deal here? I'm not really willing to throw my weight into any discussion that's so blatantly ignorant or one-sided...Come on!
I've long been angered that in our society,that a small group of closed minded, self ritious and self serving individuals are able to catapolt our modernday libidos into the dark ages. These people are the same ones that may indulge, or be lucky enough to experience really great sex ,at least once in thier lives, but they feel so guilty or soiled afterwords that they spend the next sunday in confession. I am glad that I found out about your website and project! I agree with the principles, and would like to help the cause. Sexuality is such a natural aspect of human nature, I never understood why all the taboo exists. I do wish that our culture was not so hypocritical about it. The boundaries are beginning to loosen however, there is a long way to go. The decriminalization of prostitution would be a step in the right direction.
I am a strong supporter for decriminalization of all forms of sex work. I believe sex workers perform a vital function in our society and should be respected as any other professional. This is a great site and you can count on my support.

Dave, I've only taken a brief look at your site, but I'm impressed with what I've seen so far. I agree that our collective consciousness (as well as my personal consciousness!) needs a departure from the "sexuality is bad" shame & disapproval, and an embracement of healthy, mature appreciation of our sexuality. Sexuality, after all, is a vital part of who we are (some say it's central to our health, and I agree). I'm reminded of a quote which basically said that we're all made by God/Spirit/The All and "God doesn't make junk." Who are we to downgrade, deny & suppress a gift from spirit? Hi Dave! I have seen your name in the newsgroups, which I occasionally read. I was a referal on the tsml in Dallas...we frequent the same circles it seems. I think you have a level head from what I've read. I appreciate you supporting the sex worker. We do need a free speech ally! It's absolutely ridiculous that it's an illegal profession, because the guys I see are so normal and just want some company, to see someone's "smile" and warmth...and of course the sex...usually they are not getting elsewhere. I see this occupation as very healthy since it provides so much to a man and the woman also. Not often can the man find the convenience of a woman who is sexy and willing to cater undivided attention to his desires and the woman able to fulfill her most needed financial desires. And both are usually/hopefully smiling and happy with the experience...for myself, I am elated to have someone so pleased with me, and also because I have usually made his happiest part of the week or month...whatever it be. As the old saying goes when someone has an awesome experience, "this should be a crime"...did someone think that was meant to be literal?? As for the money...as for myself I have to say that I set my price at what I think I'm worth and the risk of arrest, risk of weirdos, the stranger factor and the physical vigor for lack of a better word just reinforces what I charge which is $300 hr. Not to mention I am young, intelligent, warm, friendly, very attractive and very good at what I do...I wouldn't charge what I couldn't live up to. I'm also into quality not quantity. And I do intend to attract guys who are of great quality. I'm really into thinking good about yourself. I think this business should be a win-win situation for everyone. Since you are into counseling, you know what I mean. That's really my intention...and I do offer my friendship to my clients. This business really gets bad hype, but it is so ironic that I have found it for me and my clients to be such an uplifting experience. Besides from the risks, I think it to be one of the most positive jobs there is.

I agree with your beliefs about the positive potential of commerical sex for education and intimacy. I have long recognized the emotional needs of my clients and try to provide them with a caring and responsible encounter. It's very true that most of them want something deeper than just a physical experience. You are one of the few people I've heard from who is able to recognize and articulate that need so well. I do think it's important to remember that we are more than just our bodies. As a result of my approach to my work, I have very nice clients who I can relax with and enjoy their company. The world may shun woman like myself when we "come out" publically, but privately, if we approach our work in a life affirming fashion, we are rewarded with more than money.

I do believe that the society in which we live has become very "uppity" about the need for intimacy. I have been accused of being a touchy-feely guy. I feel that if everyone would take the time to find out what intimacy really is, and what touching and feeling and sensing really are, that we would have to worry so much about "getting caught" trying to be ourselves. I just wish, especially in the community in which I live, the general concensus would not be so negative to intimacy and sensuality, then maybe we could all enjoy the touch, feelings and senuality that we all deserve.
I support sex workers since we get so many wonderfully men contacting us that desperately seek sexual fulfillment but have such a hard time finding the right real relationships. Sex Work should be a legalized, honored profession as it is in many more mature cultures.
